On July 20, 1992 and December 1, 1992, Inmate Francisco Moreno was involved in two violent assaults with a rifle. With these two incidents, Moreno left a trail of 18 victims, several who sustained traumatic injuries, one of whom was fatally wounded. Five of the 18 victims were Long Beach police officers who were attempting to apprehend Moreno as he was fleeing the first violent attack. Moreno was subsequently convicted of one count of murder, 11 counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and three counts of shooting into an inhabited building/vehicle. He was sentenced to a total 12 life sentences plus 33 years.

On October 6, 2022, Francisco Moreno will be going before the Parole Board for consideration of an early release from his life sentence. We need your help in opposing this early release.

It is imperative that we show our support for the five Long Beach Police Officers who were shot at by Inmate Moreno as well as the 13 additional victims of Moreno's violent attacks. We need to make it clear to the Parole Board that Francisco Moreno still presents a danger to society and should serve out the term of life in prison as prescribed by the sentencing court.
